Named after a building given to the College in the 14th century called ‘La Oriole’, Oriel College was the fifth college founded at Oxford University. The College features four medieval halls, including Tackley’s, the oldest standing medieval hall in Oxford. Oriel College is a short stroll away from Oxford’s famous Covered Market, where traditional eateries are surrounded by street food vendors, interesting gift shops and hairdressers.
