A specialist Oxford summer school provider that offers a taste of Oxford University life, based in St Anne's College
Founded by Oxford graduates, The Oxford Institute offers a taste of Oxford student life each summer for students aged 12+. Living and dining in St Anne’s College, students enjoy the beautiful campus and facilities that are normally exclusively available to Oxford University students including accommodation, dining halls, lecture rooms, sports and recreational facilities, parks and gardens. Lessons are delivered by experienced tutors, many of whom teach or have studied at Oxbridge or other top universities. Compared with other larger providers, The Oxford Institute offers a smaller and more intimate programme, with just 50-80 students per cohort.
Students can tailor their course, choosing their preferred subjects from a wide range spanning the Humanities, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences. Core tutorials are taught in small groups of 1-3 students, while supplementary lectures, guest speakers and student debates ensure a rounded learning experience.
Outside of class, a varied extracurricular programme of local visits, sports and excursions is available, including some of the more famous Oxford pursuits such as punting, as well as excursions further afield including a day trip to London. The Oxford Institute even offers students the chance to experience the best of both Oxford and London by spending one week in each on its Oxford and LSE programme.
