Course Summary
Gain a deeper understanding of global politics and diplomacy in the academic city of Cambridge. Immerse Education’s International Relations summer programme offers two courses: one for students aged 13-15, introducing the basics of global politics, and another for students aged 16-18, focusing on advanced issues like international law and conflict resolution.
Both programmes equip students with analytical and communication skills, preparing them for further studies in international relations, politics, or diplomacy. Learn more below to explore which programme suits your academic interests.
Course Highlights
- Complete modules including The Middle East in International Politics, and The European Union and Globalism. Learning happens in in-depth academic sessions, a personal project, and 1:1 tutoring. The graduation ceremony, held in a historic Cambridge hall, celebrates participants' achievements with inspirational speeches and the awarding of certificates. There are two full-day excursions during the programme, one day trip to visit Oxford and its constituent colleges, as well as an optional day out in London, seeing the city’s most famous landmarks as well as some free time for shopping. Outside of lessons, we are proud to offer a busy and diverse social programme to help you get the most out of your time in Cambridge. Evenings feature a variety of events, including inspiring guest speaker sessions, talent shows, cake and canvas painting evenings, quiz nights with friends, and sports tournaments.

More Information
You’ll study the key principles of international relations, including global governance, international conflict, diplomacy, and the roles of international organisations like the United Nations. You’ll also explore current global issues and their impact on international politics.
All participants will live in comfortable student accommodation at their chosen venue, in clean rooms and with adequate supervision. Where multiple campuses may be available (such as in Oxford or Cambridge), students will be allocated to a college a few weeks before arriving, based on their dates and subject choice.

We are delighted to offer all enrolled participants comprehensive summer school insurance for their chosen academic summer programme. This is included in the participation fee and is provided by Endsleigh Insurance. Learn more at https://www.immerse.education/programme-insurance/
Students will be supervised by their subject tutor during classtimes, and by mentors during their free time. Students will be part of a mentor family. A mentor family is a group of around 10 participants attending the programme in the same college but studying a variety of subjects. They are led by their mentor, a current undergraduate, who is there to answer any questions they may have about the programme or life at university. Mentors form the core of our pastoral care and are on hand to help participants throughout the programme. Participants will be sent an invitation to their mentor family group chat a few days before their programme is due to start, to introduce themselves and get to know each other before the programme begins.
