Course · Spark To Connect

Explore the meeting point of living systems and digital technology. Bio-Tech & Future Medicine introduces ambitious students to research questions that could shape how we understand, repair and engineer the human body.
You will investigate CRISPR and gene editing, discover how AI and tools such as AlphaFold are changing biological research, and explore the possibilities of synthetic biology. Further themes include 3D bioprinting and brain–computer interfaces, connecting scientific ideas with the technologies used to investigate them.
Hands-on project work encourages you to move beyond headlines, ask sharper questions and communicate complex ideas clearly. Your final presentation offers an opportunity to develop your thinking into a coherent piece of work and discuss it with professionals.
Set within a two-week Oxford experience, the LAB combines scientific exploration with cultural excursions and international friendships. Its focus is educational exploration of emerging research and scientific debate.
