Academy Royale International's Young Game Creators summer school gives students aged 10 to 12 two weeks to design and build their own video games at Marlborough College. You create worlds, design characters, write stories and code your game, with no experience needed. Since 2004, we've welcomed students from more than 175 countries.
Our Young Game Creators summer school gives students aged 10 to 12 the tools to build their own games. For two weeks, you live and study at Marlborough College, a historic British boarding school, and run your own creative studio. You don't need any coding experience.
Every day starts with a new challenge. You imagine game worlds and the characters who live in them, then code your ideas in Scratch and build playable games. You test and refine your game until it's ready to share, and present your creations to the class at the end of each day.
Marlborough's 286-acre campus has sports pitches and an on-site swimming pool. Each afternoon, you step away from the screen for games and sports, and evenings bring challenges and social activities led by our activity team. You live in boarding houses with support from our residential team around the clock.

Contact our Admissions Team for more information. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. You can also request to share a room with someone you know studying the same course as you, though this is not guaranteed and must be done in advance of the course.

You can go online and check your visa requirements by visiting the useful Check if you need a UK visa tool from the UK government. Students from European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries do not currently require a visa to enter the UK to attend our academic or English language courses. We recommend that students keep checking this page - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visiting-the-uk-as-an-eu-eea-or-swiss-citizen - for further information and updates.
Oxford Royale Academy recommends that registered students who require a visa to enter the UK apply for a Standard Visitor visa (details here), which authorises students to attend a short course of study (including English language programmes) in the UK. Students attending our Summer Schools in the USA may be able to enter the United States on the Visa Waiver programme.
You can find out whether you qualify for this by using the online Visa Wizard on the US Travel website – select the ‘study or exchange’, then ‘recreational program’ options. You will not require a student visa, but a standard visitor visa.
