Course Summary

Academy Royale International’s Iconic Britain course combines English lessons with trips to Britain’s most famous landmarks for students aged 14 to 18. Over two weeks at Marlborough College, you visit London, Stonehenge, Bath, Oxford and Shakespeare’s Globe, and learn about each place in English before you go. Since 2004, we’ve welcomed students from more than 175 countries.

Iconic Britain course teaches English through the stories behind Britain’s most famous places. For two weeks, students aged 14 to 18 live and study at Marlborough College, and every lesson connects to a place you visit that week.

How you learn

Each morning, you take two English lessons on topics such as the Monarchy & Parliament, Medieval Britain, and Shakespeare & the West End. You then work on a hands-on project linked to the day’s theme, and finish with a Get Active session.

Excursions

In week one, you tour London’s landmarks, including Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, visit Stonehenge and Bath in one day, and explore the colleges of Oxford. In week two, you visit Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle, spend a day at Shakespeare’s Globe and a West End show, and go behind the scenes at the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour.

We recommend that students keep checking this page - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/visiting-the-uk-as-an-eu-eea-or-swiss-citizen - for further information and updates.

Students attending our Summer Schools in the USA may be able to enter the United States on the Visa Waiver programme.
