Academy Royale International's Economics & Finance summer school gives students aged 16 to 18 two weeks of university-style teaching in Oxford or Cambridge. You learn how markets, businesses and investors work, then test your skills in decision-making simulations and build your own investment portfolio. Since 2004, we've welcomed students from more than 175 countries to live and study in historic university colleges.
Our Economics & Finance summer school teaches students aged 16 to 18 about the forces that shape the global economy. For two weeks, you live and study in a historic college of the University of Oxford or Cambridge and learn how economists, bankers and investors spot trends, balance risk and make sound investments.
The teaching draws on university courses and the training real finance professionals receive.
You start with the key ideas you'll use throughout the course: scarcity, incentives, and supply and demand, plus inflation, venture capital, IPOs and shares. You then compare business and consumer markets and learn how economic conditions affect them.
You learn how businesses raise and manage money, then study how and why businesses and individuals invest. You carry out investment analyses, take part in business decision-making simulations and build your own investment portfolio. In the evenings, you hear talks from economics and finance leaders.
Leading academics and finance experts teach you in small groups, so you get personal feedback and support. Faculty include Dr Anisa Butt, Lecturer in Economics at King's College London, and Dr Emine Phillips, an entrepreneur and AI strategist with more than 20 years of international experience.

Our students will be staying in actual university accommodation. Most of our accommodation sites offer a mix of single and twin bedrooms. Some campuses have en-suite bedrooms while others have bathroom facilities shared between a small group of same-sex students. In some campuses, students have the option to pay our ‘En-suite Reservation Fee’, which entitles students to an en-suite room should one be available at their campus.
Contact our Admissions Team for more information. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. You can also request to share a room with someone you know studying the same course as you, though this is not guaranteed and must be done in advance of the course.
