Academy Royale International's Cyber Security & AI summer school gives students aged 16 to 18 two weeks of hands-on training in Oxford. You learn how AI is changing cyber security, and practise ethical hacking, cryptography and digital forensics with Oxford researchers. Since 2004, we've welcomed students from more than 175 countries to live and study in historic university colleges.
Our Cyber Security & AI summer school teaches students aged 16 to 18 how AI is changing the way we protect ourselves online. For two weeks, you live and study in a historic college of the University of Oxford and build skills for the careers AI is creating.
You learn how machine learning works and debate the ethics of AI. You study generative AI and natural language processing, then learn how digital forensics solves cyber crimes. You also test website vulnerabilities using ethical hacking tools such as Burp Suite.
You study cryptography, learn command-line basics and explore binary exploitation and reverse engineering. You learn how networks, firewalls and passwords keep systems secure, and how hackers try to break them. You finish by considering the ethics of cyber security and the careers open to you.
AI researchers and cyber security specialists teach you in small groups, so you get personal feedback and support. Faculty include Marcus du Sautoy, Charles Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford, and Imran Hashmi, Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in AI and Machine Learning at the University of Oxford.

Our students will be staying in actual university accommodation. Most of our accommodation sites offer a mix of single and twin bedrooms. Some campuses have en-suite bedrooms while others have bathroom facilities shared between a small group of same-sex students. In some campuses, students have the option to pay our ‘En-suite Reservation Fee’, which entitles students to an en-suite room should one be available at their campus.
Contact our Admissions Team for more information. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. You can also request to share a room with someone you know studying the same course as you, though this is not guaranteed and must be done in advance of the course.
Fees include tuition, study materials, accommodation, meals, the published activity and excursion programme, welcome and graduation events, a graduation certificate and report, and Academy Royale International merchandise.
