Course Summary
Dive into the world of AI in the academically vibrant city of Oxford. Immerse Education’s Artificial Intelligence summer programme for students aged 16-18 introduces key AI principles, including machine learning and algorithms, while exploring the impact of AI on society and industries.
Through hands-on coding and discussions, participants will develop computational thinking skills, preparing them for further studies in AI, computer science, or data science. Learn more below about how Oxford can shape your future in AI.
Course Highlights
- Complete modules include Machine Learning Algorithms and AI in Robotics. Learning happens in in-depth academic sessions, personal projects and 1:1 tutoring. The graduation ceremony, held in a historic Oxford hall, celebrates participants' achievements with inspirational speeches and the awarding of certificates. There are two full-day excursions during the programme, one day trip to visit Cambridge and its constituent colleges, as well as an optional day out in London, seeing the city’s most famous landmarks as well as some free time for shopping. We offer a busy and diverse social programme to ensure you make the most of your time in Oxford. Activities include punting on the River Cherwell, zorb football, and a thrilling murder mystery night in the college. Evenings feature a variety of events, including inspiring guest speaker sessions, talent shows, cake and canvas painting evenings, quiz nights with friends, and sports tournaments.

More Information
You’ll cover core AI topics, including machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing. The course combines theoretical learning with practical coding exercises, challenging you to think critically about how AI technologies are developed and applied in the real world.
All participants will live in comfortable student accommodation at their chosen venue, in clean rooms and with adequate supervision. Where multiple campuses may be available (such as in Oxford or Cambridge), students will be allocated to a college a few weeks before arriving, based on their dates and subject choice.

We are delighted to offer all enrolled participants comprehensive summer school insurance for their chosen academic summer programme. This is included in the participation fee and is provided by Endsleigh Insurance. Learn more at https://www.immerse.education/programme-insurance/
Students will be supervised by their subject tutor during classtimes, and by mentors during their free time. Students will be part of a mentor family. A mentor family is a group of around 10 participants attending the programme in the same college but studying a variety of subjects. They are led by their mentor, a current undergraduate, who is there to answer any questions they may have about the programme or life at university. Mentors form the core of our pastoral care and are on hand to help participants throughout the programme. Participants will be sent an invitation to their mentor family group chat a few days before their programme is due to start, to introduce themselves and get to know each other before the programme begins.
