Course · Atlas Summer Courses

What makes a character convincing or a story difficult to put down? Creative Writing Explorers with Atlas Summer Courses is for ages 11–12 at Harrow School. Students develop characters, shape plots and explore how writers hold a reader’s attention. Comic strips, photographs and podcasts are among the formats they may try, drawing inspiration from classic and contemporary storytellers.
Interactive tasks, practical challenges and increasingly independent group work help students investigate ideas, compare approaches and build confidence in explaining what they discover. Tutors adapt the content to the group’s interests rather than following a fixed syllabus.
For ages 11–12, experienced primary teachers use interactive tasks, multimedia presentations, games and projects. Compared with the 9–10 course, the provider describes more opportunities for independent group work and content adapted to this age group.
