How is understanding genes changing medicine, technology and our view of life? Biotechnology and Genetics with Atlas Summer Courses is for ages 13–15 in Cambridge. Students explore cell biology, genetic engineering and the ethical questions raised by modern biotechnology. Examples from medicine, pharmacology and agriculture show how developments in genetics affect the wider world.
Guided small-group classes combine discussion, practice tasks and opportunities for independent research, helping students develop ideas and learn from different perspectives. Tutors adapt the content to the group’s interests rather than following a fixed syllabus.
Students aged 13–15 learn in small groups with guidance from their tutor. They practise new concepts through discussion and tasks, with opportunities for group work and independent research. Homework is discussed in class.
