Study Art History with us, and you’ll learn the methods and meaning behind every brushstroke. We’ll analyse the techniques and symbolism of a range of artworks and interpret art from different cultural contexts. We'll explore a diverse range of paintings and three-dimensional art throughout history and through to the modern day, broadening your knowledge of the visual culture of different periods. From fine art to abstract works, clay heads and everything in between, absorb the rich creative history from the past to today’s modern masterpieces. From iconic gallery works to underground art, every canvas and artefact is a new discovery. Set and reflect on ambitious goals with our support, engage in tutorial Q&A sessions, participate in an academic skills masterclass for critical thinking development, explore future career pathways through expert speakers, attend a university fair to meet representatives from various universities, and have the chance to visit different Oxford colleges for a comprehensive Oxford summer school experience.

FAQ's

Where will I be staying?

We use Oxford and Cambridge university accommodation with ensuite and standard rooms available.

How many hours of tuition are provided?

For 13+ we offer 20 hours of tutor contact time with additional supervised study sessions to prepare for seminars. We also have reflection and goal setting times along with masterclasses teaching 21st century skills.

What level of English do I need?

We require a minimum of B2 in English to attend these courses.

What supervision is provided?

We have on course staff on site 24 hours a day. Porters lodges make sites secure and staff are given first aid training.

Are airport transfers provided?

Airport transfers are included in our course fee and run on the first Sunday and final Saturday of the courses. Flights must be to Heathrow airport and within our arrival and departure times.

Is course insurance provided?

Health and travel insurance are both included in the course fee.

Will I get a certificate?

At the end of the course the students receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation to use as supporting documents for future applications.

What visa do I need?

A UK visitor's visa is required to attend this course. We provide a supporting letter on payment of the balance for those that require it.
