The Law & Politics Summer School at Cambridge offers students aged 16–18 an immersive exploration of the intersection between law and politics. Over two weeks, participants study topics like human rights, globalisation, and business law, develop critical skills through debates and a Mock Trial Simulation, and experience life at historic Clare College. The programme features expert teaching, networking with international peers, and unique Cambridge experiences such as punting and a graduation dinner in a medieval hall.
On this Law and Politics Summer School, students between 16 and 18 years will examine the interconnection of law and politics and take the first step to pursuing your legal career, on campus at our Summer School. Focused on emerging issues in these fields, the programme fosters discussion and debate through legal case studies and their ethical implications on issues ranging from human rights to globalisation, terrorism, trade, protectionism and access to resources.
Students will gain insight into Criminal and Civil Law, while exploring facets of Business Law, Contract Law, Ethics and Human Rights. Over two weeks of study, they sharpen critical skills like public speaking, critical thinking, analysis and collaboration, as they analyse global case studies with peers from around the world.
The Oxford Royale Cambridge Summer School offers the chance to network with like-minded students from across the world, and expert faculty as students explore the methods of social scientific inquiry. The programme allow students to demonstrate their practical skills as they build a case and convincing arguments in the Mock Trial Simulation.

Apply NowOur students will be staying in actual university accommodation. Most of our accommodation sites offer a mix of single and twin bedrooms. Some campuses have en-suite bedrooms while others have bathroom facilities shared between a small group of same-sex students. In some campuses, students have the option to pay our ‘En-suite Reservation Fee’, which entitles students to an en-suite room should one be available at their campus. Contact our Admissions Team for more information. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. You can also request to share a room with someone you know studying the same course as you, though this is not guaranteed and must be done in advance of the course.
In the UK students will receive 20 hours of teaching per week, and outside of classes will enjoy a number of enrichment activities. In the USA, our students will have up to 17.5 of teaching hours per week, alongside extracurricular enrichment activities.
Our English language requirements are as follows: B1 for Learn English programmes C1 or IELTS level 6.5 or higher for all academic programmes Students who have studied at an English speaking school for two or more years are exempt from English requirements. Our students will receive their Oxford Royale graduation certificate at the end of their course, and will also receive a full, personal report on their academic achievement.

Students from European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries do not currently require a visa to enter the UK to attend our academic or English language courses. Oxford Royale Academy recommends that registered students who require a visa to enter the UK apply for a Standard Visitor visa (details here), which authorises students to attend a short course of study (including English language programmes) in the UK. Students attending our Summer Schools in the USA may be able to enter the United States on the Visa Waiver programme. You can find out whether you qualify for this by using the online Visa Wizard on the US Travel website – select the ‘study or exchange’, then ‘recreational program’ options. You will not require a student visa, but a standard visitor visa.
