Bring your design ideas to life at one of the richest artistic and architectural locations in the world, on campus at our Oxford Royale Cambridge Summer School. At the Architecture Summer School, students will apply the core principles of architecture, including planning, design and spatial mapping as they fast track their future to becoming a world-class architect.
Students will immerse themselves into the University of Cambridge’s buildings, colleges, art collections and museums, observing ‘case studies’ which illustrate the development of art and architecture in Europe between the Roman and Norman Conquests, to the architecture of the University in the 20th and 21st centuries. They complete the Summer School by producing a range of architectural drawings and build their professional portfolio as they practice technical drawing and model construction in both manual and digital formats.

Apply NowOur students will be staying in actual university accommodation. Most of our accommodation sites offer a mix of single and twin bedrooms. Some campuses have en-suite bedrooms while others have bathroom facilities shared between a small group of same-sex students. In some campuses, students have the option to pay our ‘En-suite Reservation Fee’, which entitles students to an en-suite room should one be available at their campus. Contact our Admissions Team for more information. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends. You can also request to share a room with someone you know studying the same course as you, though this is not guaranteed and must be done in advance of the course.
In the UK students will receive 20 hours of teaching per week, and outside of classes will enjoy a number of enrichment activities. In the USA, our students will have up to 17.5 of teaching hours per week, alongside extracurricular enrichment activities.
Our English language requirements are as follows: B1 for Learn English programmes C1 or IELTS level 6.5 or higher for all academic programmes Students who have studied at an English speaking school for two or more years are exempt from English requirements. Our students will receive their Oxford Royale graduation certificate at the end of their course, and will also receive a full, personal report on their academic achievement.

Students from European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries do not currently require a visa to enter the UK to attend our academic or English language courses. Oxford Royale Academy recommends that registered students who require a visa to enter the UK apply for a Standard Visitor visa (details here), which authorises students to attend a short course of study (including English language programmes) in the UK. Students attending our Summer Schools in the USA may be able to enter the United States on the Visa Waiver programme. You can find out whether you qualify for this by using the online Visa Wizard on the US Travel website – select the ‘study or exchange’, then ‘recreational program’ options. You will not require a student visa, but a standard visitor visa.
