Campus Summary
If you like beautiful gardens and outdoor space then St Hugh’s is a good fit for you. This college was originally founded by William Wordsworth’s niece, Elizabeth, and aimed to make prestigious Oxford teaching available to women in a time when they were not encouraged to pursue education. Nowadays, St Hugh’s continues to foster inclusivity and opens its doors to all students with the required academic talent. Notable alumni include the former British Prime Minister Theresa May and the suffragette Emily Davison.
