Fashion in New York summer course in New York, by Oxbridge Academic Programs.
Students navigate from the blank page to the catwalk as they visit and interact with some of the most famous flagship stores and their Garment District suppliers. Students will analyze brand strategy and consumer experience, and come to grips with the fundamentals of clothes and accessory design. The course culminates in a fashion show in which they display their creations.
Oxbridge in New York takes place at Barnard College, an independent liberal arts college established in 1889 and affiliated with Columbia University since 1900.
In New York, students live in rooms that are occupied by undergraduates during the year. Students are housed in single or double rooms and have access to shared facilities.
Students on the Oxbridge in New York program choose one Major course and one Workshop course to study for the month. Popular courses include Creative Writing, Finance and Business, and Musical Theater.
Every class is designed to use New York as a teaching tool. When not in class, students can take part in the activities planned by the program, whether it be attending a Major League Baseball game, visiting Coney Island, or going to see a Broadway show.
