This course aims to introduce the field of medicine as both a scientific field and profession. Taught by experienced industry professionals, lessons will incorporate both theoretical and practical knowledge within the field of medicine.
The areas of medicine and medical biology to be studied will be chosen from optional subjects and course content will be delivered from areas that can include the anatomy and human dissection, DNA research, ethical issues, and more.
Lesson plans offer an opportunity to gain unique insight into the theoretical practices relating to the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary and nervous systems. Students will develop treatment plans for a range of acute and complex medical disorders and engage in immersive case studies and simulations that challenge students to think critically and apply multidisciplinary approaches to patient outcomes.
The addition of a real-world industry project and exciting activity and excursion programmes embedded in the timetable, ensures students will have a well-rounded and powerful two weeks studying on the Young Professionals Medicine course.
You'll be staying in d'Overbroeck's, a remarkable independent school in Oxford. Teaching will take place in the modern Sixth Form building which provides contemporary classrooms, auditorium and numerous social spaces, making it the ideal location for the Young Professionals programme. Multiple boarding houses are situated close by to the school.
